Children's Ministry and Choir
Children's Ministry at Lakewood Anglican
God designed children to worship, too! We have opportunities for kids of all ages to be involved in our church family and learn God’s Word.
All adults leading our children’s ministries have completed the Ministry Safe certification.
BEFORE THE SERVICE
10:30 Sunday School: Ages 3 And Up
Fr. Sean and our dedicated teachers bring the stories of the Bible alive through story-telling, acting, crafts, and activities. We use a Scripture-based curriculum that makes sure that Lakewood Anglican children are familiar with the stories of the Bible and God's call throughout history.
During the Service
Nursery: Age 0-3
Starting 10 minutes before our Sunday worship service, infants and toddlers (up to three years old) can be dropped off in the nursery room at the back of the sanctuary. Guardians should leave their cell phone number with Marci, our part-time child care provider, so she can contact you during the service if necessary. Since we encourage going to the Communion altar as a family, the children are ready to be picked up just before you go up for the Eucharist. Father Sean is always ready to offer a blessing over our little ones!
SINGING THE FAITH: AGE 3-Receiving First Communion
Every other week after the Gospel reading (15-20 minutes into the service), preschool and elementary school children who have not yet received Holy Communion leave the sanctuary to sing together with our organist, Mrs. Leah Templeton. We return to the service in time for families to be together for Communion.
Occasionally, the kids share their music with the congregation by singing during the service. Our organist, Mrs. Leah Templeton directs our kids’ choir.
Acolytes: Age 9 and older
See it all up close! Are your older kids looking for a new way to be involved with the church? We’ll train kids age 9 and up to be an acolyte (it’s not hard, we promise!), and they can serve during our Sunday worship as it fits their schedule.
